Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 5, 2025

1. Who we are

Cue (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website cue.church and the Cue application — a live second-screen experience for church services. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information about you.

2. Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any name you provide.

Church profile. Church name, URL slug, and any branding or settings you configure.

Payment information. Billing is handled by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number; Stripe stores it and provides us only with a customer ID and subscription status.

Usage data. We collect basic usage information (pages visited, features used) to improve the product.

Congregation notes. Notes and reflections written by congregation members during a service are stored locally in the browser (localStorage) and are never transmitted to our servers.

3. How we use your information

  • To provide, operate, and improve the Cue service
  • To send transactional emails (account creation, billing receipts, trial reminders)
  • To send product-related emails via Kit (ConvertKit) — you can unsubscribe at any time
  • To process payments through Stripe
  • To respond to support requests

4. Third-party services

We share data with the following third parties only as necessary to operate the service:

  • Supabase — database and authentication (EU and US data centers)
  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Kit (ConvertKit) — email marketing (your email and first name only)
  • Anthropic / OpenAI — AI features (verse word studies, historical context, sermon transcription). No personally identifiable information is sent; only scripture references and audio snippets are processed.
  • ACRCloud — song recognition from audio samples
  • Vercel — hosting and edge infrastructure

We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial reasons (e.g., billing records).

6. Cookies

We use cookies solely for authentication session management. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

7. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us at the email below. If you are located in the EU or UK, you have additional rights under GDPR, including the right to data portability and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

8. Children's privacy

Cue is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify account holders of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
